Wood box (Possibly Oak); lid is hinged in 2 places at back; metal foil stamping reading "Cigars" is nailed to top of lid; corners of lid and base originally decorated with a filagree work; inside of box lined with tin; against back edge of base sections is removable piece og tin that has a blotter inside of it.
By soaking blotter section in water and reinserting was possible to keep cigars from drying out.Use
