Full groove axe from the Archaic period, 8000-6000 B.C. Gray color with bandings in tan-like color and dark gray or black lines. Single cutting edge. Dated by Teresa Putty, Paleantologist, in 2000. Attributed to George Jordan who was a Shelby County collector and amateur archeologist. According to Steve Hart, who organized the collection in 1984, this is a very rare piece. 01/20/2018 Identified by Luke Cord as Full Grooved Axe (Archaic Period 8000-6000 BP)
