George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Adena & Hopewell slate disk - it is a slate gray, has not been smoothed or polished. Mostly flat on one side and generally convex on the other. Convex side has a 90 degree chipe at one edge. The highest point on the convex side is 1" high. Tapers abruptly to the bottom edge. The other slopes gradually to 3/8" then to bottom. Shape of object is half square and half round.Collection
