George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Archaic ellipsoidal bar weight,. Dark gray in color, smooth and polished. Flat on one side, other side is 7/8" wide and 5/8" high. Tapered from this point to both ends lengthwise, also along the sides. Narrow groove across the middle of rounded side. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Archaic Period, 8000 BC - 6000 BC.Collection
