Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Adena quadriconcave gorget. Slate gray, side and ends are concave, one end is squared and other is slightly rounded. Two holes 3/8" apart in middle of gorget, holes taper down from 3/8" to 1/4" on other side. One end thicker than other. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Woodland Period, 1000 BC - 800 AD. Identified by Luke Cord as Adena Quadri-concave (Woodland Period 1000-800 BP)
