Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Grooved axe, mottled tan, black, gray color; convex surfaces that taper from edge of groove to cutting edge. Above the groove object is slightly rounding. One side is flat, other followes shape of axe. Smooth and polished, groove is 7/8" wide and 3/8" deep. 01/20/2018 Identified by Luke Cord as Full Groove Axe (archaic Period 8000-6000 BP)
