George Jordan was an early Shelby County collecytor and amatuer archaeologist. Archaic tube bannerstone. It is slate gray in color, has a hole drilled through middle lengthwide; flat on bottom side, other three sides are rounded. Ends where drilled holes exit are rough and mishapen in comparison to rest of stone, angle of ends approximately identical. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleantologist, dated this artifact in the Archaic Period, 8000-6000 BC.Collection
