Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Adena-Hopewell Ft. Acient Pendant. Gray with tan splotches in color. Oblong, slightly tapered from 1" at end to approximately 2" at the other. Sides and rounded and polished; other end is slightyl rounded. Bottom side is rounded and top slightly rounding. A drilled hole 1 1/4" from smaller end. Smooth and polished. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Woodland Period, 1000 BC-AD 800.
