Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Single hole pendant, slate gray in color with darker ringed lines running across wise near the center of pendant, on one side. Solid slate gray on other side. It is 1 1/8" at one end, then is slightly rounded before tapering to 1/2" at other end. Sides are flat across the ends and both long sides. Top and bottom are slightly convex. A drilled hole 1" from narrower end. Smooth and polished. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Woodland Period, 1000 BC-AD 800.
