George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Celt, dark slate color. Oblong in shape, one surface is flat, other is slightly rounding.. Sides and one end are flat, other end is sharp. Tapers up from 1 1/4" t 3/4" to 1 1/4". Smooth and polished. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Archaic Period, 8000-6000 BC.
