Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Celt, deep gray with some slight gray mottled with dark gray on one side. Surfaces somewhat convex. The sides and one end are flat, other end tapers to a sharp edge. It tapers upward from 1" to 2" at the top. The sharp end is smooth and polished. Rest of piece is rough. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Woodland Period, 1000 BC-AD 800. 01/20/2018 Identified by Luke Cord as Celt (Woodland Period 1000-800 BP)
