George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Celt, blackish gray with few light gray specks. Tapers from 1" at one end to 2" at other. Surfaces are rounding, sides are flat. Narrow end is slightly round, wider end tapers to a sharp edge. Sharp edge is smooth and polished, rest of tool is rough. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Woodland Period, 1000 BC-AD 800.
