Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Pick bannerstone light gray with dark oval rings which are somewhat parallel to arching surface of the item. Has hole drilled through middle width-wise. One surface were hole is drilled is somewhat flat, opposite suface moves away from the hole opening in a gental arch shape. Flatter surface at hole operning has a natural depression that was not polished qeay when object was made. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Archaic Period, 8000-6000 BC.
