Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Celt, gray with darker gray strip across the middle on one side. Tapers up from 1/2" to 2" at the tapered end. Flat and smooth on one surface; slightly rounded and not as smooth on other surface. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Woodland Period, 1000 BC-AD 800. 01/20/2018 Identified by Luke Cord as Adze (Woodland Period 1000-800 BP)
