Description

George Jordan was an early Shelby County collector and amatuer archaeologist. Archaic ellipsoidal bar weight, tannish gray, smooth and polished. Round on one side and rounded on other. Narrow elongated shape. 1/2" at wider end and 7/8" at other. Narrow end is more rounding. Has rings on the top which resemble tree rings. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as Archaic Period, 8000 BC-6000 BC.
