A piece of turned wood somewhat resembling a pulley; top has three holes for pens and a hole in the center is larger and metal lined to hold ink. It has been painted black except for base where there is a 1/4" brown stripe and immediately above it is very thin red stripe.
Had old collection number 186 and records for it read: "Ink Well perion of 1825 Wooden inkwell from the first court house in the Public Square. Mrs. Lee Amsden Sr. was great-grandmother of Lee, who presented this March 8, 1938Collection
