Base consists of a footed rectangular piece hinged on one side to a fluted rectangular lid with a tab handle at one end; sides and feet of bottom piece painted black with gold striping; handles of both rollers painted black; large roller has 2 1/4" dia., smaller one has 1 1/2" diameter; handles of both have two diamond shaped cut outs at each end.
Stamped on bottom of base: Shepard Hardware Co. Buffalo NY, Handles of both rollers stamped Pat. 1880.
