Description

Kettle, brass, narrow at the bottom, wider at the top. Rim is rolled over to the outside, has ears, attached by rivets, steel wire handle, fine horizontal lines in metal between bottom edge and top. There does not seem to be a uniform pattern. History: used to make apple butter. Mark: in center of bottom stamped "Hiram W. Hayden/Waterbury, Conn./patented Dec. 16, 1851"
