History: For a 1988 military exhibit at Grover Museum, Gary Henry had permission to copy a color slide belonging to Shelby County resident Ralph Crum. Crum was a veteran of 3 wars. In WWI he picked up bodies and body parts on "no-man's land." He was an embalmer during WWII. Graves registration during Korean Conflict. 05/14/19 - Photograph taken in Anchorage, Alaska as U.S. soldiers un load the flag draped coffins of their fellow soldiers killed in Korea. Shelby County resident, Ralph Crum took the photograph in approximately 1952. Crum had a career in the military that dated back to WWI. In WWII he served as an embalmer and later served in the graves registration department during the Korean War.
