LampDescription
Devise for lighting overhead gas lamps. Has a wood handle for gripping and extended from handle are two stamped metal tubes. One tube bends at the far end. This is the wick tube. It has an adjusting knob so as the wick was used more could be brought out. The wick was lighted with a match and held in the gas jet until the lamp ignited. The other metal tube is striaght and ends in a heart shaped design.
Very tip of handle shows lots of wear marks where it has been roughly handled. The tin or zinc coating on the metal tubes is wearing off.Collection
