Smooth metal base,has 2 horizontal prongs to secure bulb in position; single contact point on bottom; clear glass bulb; lead-in wires on either side of exhaust tube exit the pinch; filament is thin wire coiled like a spring, held in horizontal position because ends of lead-ins bent over filament & pinched secure; clear glass bulb. Base stamped "G.E./1156"
