Description

A pewter oil lamp; base is dished and from center of dish a vertical column rises; on this column is a swan neck type handle; at top of column is cup shaped reservior for sperm oil; from under neath cup reservoir a spoiut exits horizontally and curves upward near its end; at very end of spoit is a flaired ring; top of cup is a pointed section which screws off. Old Collection card read :An old grease lamp from the old country. Period 1750. Loaned by State Representative Carl Roell Mar 8, 1938. Mr. Roell thinks that it came from Switzerland"
