2 part device; 1st part divided in half, one-half is threaded male plug about 3/4" long, it terminates in metal point surrounded by ceramic insulate, 2nd half is threaded female receptacle which has a paper insulator on outside and threaded metal ring over paper insulate; 2nd part is gray colored metal collar that screws onto the ring, collar has 13 holes on concave side,has 3 threaded screws on outer rim that go into convex side. One side is stamped with what appears to be "Eagle/650w/250v" Early electric lighting in houses consisted of wall receptacles, devices like this screwed into wall, bulb screwed into device and shade or globe fit into collar & held by screws.
