Stamped into metal part is "3-3-08 3-24-08 660w 250v Benjamin Patd/Made in USA" Early electric lighting in houses consisted of wall receptacles, devices like this screwed into wall, bulb screwed into device and shade or globe fit into collar & held by screws.
