Wood handle is approximately 4 5/8" long by 3 1/2" curcumference at butt end x 2 1/2" circumference where the metal ring attaches at other end; metal ring is 1" wide and appears to secure another piece of metal to the wood handle; this 2nd piece of metal makes an approx. 90 degrees from the metal ring and it is approx. 1 5/8" long; the end of the 2nd metal piece is flattened into a triangular shape.
Special Functions: Used on wood and coal burning stoves to lift the various size plates on the cooking surface; the triangular shaped end fit into notches on the plates and that way hot metal could be removed from the stove to check the fire or adjust the amount of flame hitting a pan.Collection
