Machine is inside a hard case, but the lid lifts off to give access to machine; machine housing made of sheet metal; on top of machine are 2 discs, one is 4" diameter and other is 2" diameter and there is very thin recording wire on both discs, also on top is a timer switch and forward and reverse controls, front of machine has on-off/volume knob and 2 push buttons marked 'dictate' & 'transcribe' . Loose inside the case are a microphone and an earphone for use with the machine.
Marks: back of recorder has a maker's plate which identifies as a product of "Webser-Chicago/Chicago 89, Ill USA/Model 228-1" also fives information on electrical needs; serial number "410525" is cut into front of machine.
