Treadle sewing machine w/oak cabinet; treadle is on wheels & made of cast iron, open work lettering near base of legs read "WHITE/USA" also a cross brace at back has a "W" inside a circle; cabinet has pull out drawer on either side of operator under flat bed, also center drawer that opens by pivoting on a pin, front of drawers have burl inlay; top of flat bed has wood inlay in front of operatior marked off half inch graduation; machine is black decorated w/some gold leaf; oak cover w/pressed decoration fits over machine.
Front needle plate stamped "WHITE/S M Co. Cleveland Ohio USA"; back needle plate has serial number "1030319"

Donor's father was Jacob Theobald; he bought machine in 1894 or 1895 for his wife Louella, while pregnant w/donor to sew baby clothes; were living in Union Twp at time.
