Details: Set of 4 file folders or envelopes; reddish brown in color; printed in black type in the upper left corner of front side is "RETURN TO/ CHARLES MAJOR/ SHELBYVILLE, IND." Marks: Back flap of folder or envelope is printed: "BUSHNELL'S PAPEROID MAILING ENVELOPE/ .../ A. BUSHNELL CO., MAKERS ($@ MARKET ST., PHILADELPHIA" Used by: Charles Major Special Functions, History: According to information supplied by the donor, the donor's aunt was a close friend of Charles Major's and her aunt managed to get a bunch of these folders which she in turn gave to donor to use in her files; most were wore out through use and these are the only 4 left from the original batch given to donor by her aunt Remarks: Subnumbered 1987.016.001 A through 1987.016.001 D Conditions: All 4 are worn; corners are damaged; some tears; one is inscribed on the front "Nannie O. Sleeth,. 125 E. Mechanic, Shelbyville, Ind." and on the back is "(Bonds)" which has been scratched out and below it is "Ancestors and Historic"; another envelope is inscribed on front "HOME/ECON"; another envelope is inscribed on the flap "Speech/ Notes"
