Ralph Douglass, Jr. was a Shelbyville, IN native. He attended Merchant Marine program in Kingsport, New York about 1943. After graduation he held reserve commission in the U. S. Navy and then volunteered as deck officer and navigator. Donated items are associated with his career in Navy and/or Merchant Marine. Officers kept a variety of cap covers on hand as needed to match uniform and/or climate, was cheaper to change cap cover than have separate cap for each need.Collection
