Scope and Content

A miniature certificate of discharge stating that Roy Ortiz had been honorably discharged from military service. The words "Army of the United States" is printed in decorative font in an arc across the top with the U.S. seal (eagle with wings spread) below. The rest of the text is in cursive, italicized font. It was intended to carry in a wallet or on one's person to prove honorable discharge.
