Military Discharge for Frank AndersonDescription
Military discharge certificate from the Army of the United States stating that Frank Anderson was honorably discharged. At acquisition, the newspaper clipping was clipped to the certificate.Context
As written in the newspaper clipping:
"Shelby county is suffering its share of fighting for civilization and humanity. A larger number of Shelby County men heeded the early call of our country than did most communities, and Shelby county probably has a larger percentage of her sons in action than any county of similar population in the country.
The first Shelby county boy to suffer from shell-shock was Frank Anderson, a member of Co. G, 128th Infantry. He received the shock while in action, August 30. He is a son of Mrs. Martha Anderson of Walkerville.
Frank enlisted in Co. D, 151st Infantry, April 1917, and after a time spent at Camp Shelby, was transferred to the 128th Infantry, and sent overseas last May. This is Frank's second enlistment, he having spent two years in the Philippine Islands during a previous enlistment."Collection
