Three rows of ribbons above breast pocket meanings, in order from left to right; Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct WWII, American Defense, American Campaign, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Med. WWII, National Defense Service, Philippine Liberation WWII. The left upper sleeve patch denotes navy chief petty officer electronics technician. The 5 diagonal stripes on the lower left sleeve indicate rank of navy captain.
