Description

Olive WWII Army wool field jacket, AKA Ike or Eisenhower jacket with 5 brown buttons down the front, a button on each of the 2 epaulets, a snap closure at bottom hem. There is a U.S. pin on right collar. The left collar has disk of shell and flame, indicating Army Ordinance. On the left breast pocket flap is a gold metal with an eagle standing on a book. This is an award for 3 continuous years of active service or 1 year of wartime service. Reverse side is a 5 point star and scroll encircled by a wreath and is an award for good conduct. The other medal on this flap is an award for active duty during war time. Above left pocket is a small ribbon with star, another ribbon is victory medal for service in a particular battle or campaign, and the longer ribbon indicates participation in multiple campaigns. The left sleeve patch is a blue 71 on a white circle with red border and is for the 71st Infantry Division , which saw combat I France and Germany. The 3 striped chevron indicates sergeant rank and lower on the sleeve are 3 gold bars, denoting 1 1/2 years of overseas duty. The right sleeve patch is for the 10 th Armored Division. The patch over the right breast pocket is the fractured duck, for honorable discharge.
