B&W negative image; subject is male, seated in high back chair (possibly a rocker), he is wearing a 3 piece suit and the vest has lapels, man is balding on top although does have full beard; this is an interior shot and whoever made the picture ws standing up; other things visible in the print include a panel door behind the man, a dresser or chest of drawers to his right, to his left may be a fireplace with the mantel covered by an embroidered cloth and 3 objects on top; fireplace opening appears to be covered with same wallpaper used in room, thereis also a medallion like image with circular lettering that reads "We Mourn Our National Loss"
Series of glass plate negatives were found in an old house the donor's bought; plates were in 2 boxes from the M. A. Seed dry plat company; one box had a note attached reading Dr. Gus Billman Estate, died 1954. See also 87.35.5
