B&W negative image; subject is a seated couple; man on left side, has short hair parted on right with a receeding hair line, wearing shirt and trousers with suspenders, has right hand in lap and left hand on left shoulder of female; the woman is on right side of image, has hair done up on top of head and possibly a bow at nape of neck, wearing a print dress with pattern arranged in vertical columns, has legs crossed and hands resting on knee; both subjects are smiling; outdoor shot with full foliage, background consists of barn like structure and a grape arbor.
Series of glass plate negatives were found in an old house the donor's bought; plates were in 2 boxes from the M. A. Seed dry plat company; one box had a note attached reading Dr. Gus Billman Estate, died 1954.
