Box shaped device probably framed of wood, covered w/black leather look substance, corners have hardware pieces for reinforcement and/or to protect surface, top is hinged at back & lifts up, secured by 2 hasps; leather carrying handle & wind up crank on one side; front side base has a door that flips down revealing interior sheet iron housing; turn table has a green felt pad & 3 speed switch "Slow, 78, Fast" Maker's tag on base plate reads "Playerphone/Talking Machine Co., Chicago" and has serial number "P 1228" Donor not sure but believes was used by his late wife
