The American artist, Charles Dana Gibson, produced a series of 24 drawings titled: "The Widow and Her Friends." The Royal Doulton Works, Lambeth, England, put the drawings on blue and white china plates with cobalt borders in the early 1900's. H: "Some think that she has remained in retirement too long.
