Description

A: Projectile point. Brewerton Side-Notched. These points are thick, broad, trianguloid-bladed variants of Brewerton Corner Notched points. The example has a concave base and exhibits some bevel resharpening. Also exhibits basal grinding, making the base smooth. Color - dark grey. B: This is a smaller version of A. It has a thick trianguloid blade and a straight base with no basal grinding. Color - white. Reference: Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points, Noel D. Justice, p. 115 Brewerton Side-Notched points are diagnostic of the Maple Creek phase of the Late Archaic Period. Points Found in Collection on a board with a note saying it was found in Shelby County and donated by M/M Harry C. Morrison.
