Projectile point, Snyders. This point is broad-bladed with wide corner notches. The base is excurvate. The blade exhibits large flake scars and the notches show large hertizan cone flake scars due to indirect percussion. Color - dark gray to black. This type of Snyders point is also known as a Manker Corner notched and was probably more of a utilitarian tool as opposed to the ceremonial Snyders points found in mounds. Snyders points are diagnostic of the Middle Woodland period. Point Found in Collection on a board with a note saying it was found in Shelby County and donated by M/M Harry C.
