Point, Projectile

Name/Title

Point, Projectile

Description

Projectile Point/Affinis Snyders/This point is a Snyders point that has been reworked to form a different point. Like a Snyders point, this point has a broad blade and corner notched with large Flake scars on the blade and large hertzian cone Flake scars on the notches. The blade has been greatly reworked or resharpened down from its original size. Color is white. Affinis Snyders points are diagnostic of the Middle Woodland Period. Affinis Snyders points were utilitarian points rather than used in burial as the unreworked Snyders points were. References: Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points, Noel D. Justice, p.204.
