Name/Title
Point, ProjectileDescription
Projectile Point. Raddatz. These points are charcterized by the distinctive U-shaped notch and squared ears. This example is one which has been exhaustively used. The blade has been almost totally reduced leaving a distal bevel at the neck. These worked down points are known as "hafted scrapers".
Color is light grey. Raddatz points are diagnostic of the "Faulkner/Raddatz" phase of the Middle Archaic Period. This example served as a "hafted scraper" when it was no longer viable as a spear or knife point. Reference: "Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points," Noel D. Justice, p. 67.Use
