Description

Projectile Points. Matanzas Side Notched points. These points are characterized by the small shallow lowly placed side notches. Bases vary but straight is most common. "A", "B" & "D" have straight bases. "C" has a concave base. "B" has a large amount of cortex on the base and one side of the blade. Matanzas Side Notched points are diagnostic of the "Green River" phase of the Late Archaic Period. Reference: "Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points", Noel D. Justice, p. 119.
