Name/Title

Point, Projectile

Description

Projectile point/Graham Cave Side Notched. These points are large side notched points with a distinctive concave base. This example clearly shows the concave base and rounded basal ears and probably belongs to "Sub-type C". This example shows some evidence of bevel re-sharpening. Color is beige. These points are diagnostic of the Early Archaic Period. Reference: "Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points", Noel D. Justice, p.62-63. In 2000, Teresa Putty, Paleontologist, dated this artifact as "Mississippian"
