Point, Projectile

Name/Title

Point, Projectile

Description

Projectile Points. Madison Points. These are basically straight sided, isosceles triangular arrowheads. There is, however, a fairly wide degree of variation. Points A, B, C, D seem to best represent the type in the source books. E, F, G seem to be variations of this type as they fit into no other category. See "Dim & Notes" for size and color. Madison points are diagnostic of the Late Woodland/Mississippian transitional period. These points are true arrowheads. Reference: "Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points," Noel D. Justice.
