Description

"Potato Bug" Mandolin. It has a very unique round shape on the back and has very distinct line heading parallel down the back. It also has a decorative plastic design behind the 6 strings (supposed to have 8).

Use

the donor's grandfather, John S. Moore (1873-1953).

Context

John was from Hendricks Township, 1/2 mile west of Bengal, where Arthur was born in 1921 and later attended Boggstown Elementary School. John was called "Pop John." He was a farmer and paper hanger. The name "Potato Bug" relates to the shape of the mandolin.
