Lard Press is secured to a wood bench; press actually consists of three parts; ist part is a ring shaped cast iron base that is screwed to the wood bench and it has 2 vertical posts; 2nd. part consists of 2 metal containers made of sheet iron and are now fused together, inner container has holes in it like a sieve, outer container has solid walls and attached to its bottom is a cast iron spout; 3rd part is the pressing apparatus which consists of a round flat plate attached to a threaded rod, turning a crank activates 2 gears that lower and raise the plate.
