Sepia photographic print on cardboard mount. Construction site large brick building, the walls are mostly finished, framing for hip roof started, internal bracing visible through unfinished windows, arched doorway in center of building, above doorway is either cement or stone plaque reading PUBLIC SCHOOL, there is a vertical column on either side of plaque, columns also made of either stone or cement; one man standing on unfinished section just above 2nd story window in center; 23 men and boys standing in front of building, boy on right holding jug; right corner of image has 2 mules in harness and possibly shoo-flies, boy astride one mule. large pile of bricks visible left corner, left foreground dominated by debris. Originated Shelby Co. Originally donated to Brown County Historical Society by James Elvin Bradley. His father, James Leslie Bradley, was a contractor from Brown County who worked on this project. Transferred from Brown County Historical Society to Shelby County Historical Society as a more appropriate repository.
