Based on 2005.056.1083, which was taken the same day, I would date this photo c. 1917-1918. The note on that image reads, "SN - 9/18/20 As there are a line of cars in this photograph, the image can not date to 1890. My guess is that the image dates to 1917 or 1918, during WWI. There are reports of a large gathering in the Square shortly after the US entered the war in 1917. At this event, a large flag was raised in the middle of the Square. My guess is this picture is from that event or possibly the armistice. I would date this c. 1917-1918. "Collection
