A steel saw blade with 56 teeth. Blade tapers in size from 6 1/2" at back to 2" at front. Wooden handle cut in one spot for a hand grip and split to accomodate the blade. Secured to blade by three screws that pass through blade and fasten into three rivits on opposite side. Immediately in front of the back hand grip is second wood grip set on a horizontal plane. It is secured to the blade by a threaded rod and nut.
One rivet stamp with an American Eagle and above the eage are lettes "ANTED" below is 'SUPERIOR'
One man cross cut saw. Bu having the horizontal grip at the back one man can operate this saw. Most cross cut saws usually needed a man at each end. Saw originally owned by Thomas Jefferson Conger or Koniger as it ws some times spelled.Collection
