Description

Saber style sword and scabbard. Scabbard is all metal consturction and has two rings to secure it to a belt; sword has single cutting edge and orginally had a bright finish; about half of blade length on both sides has war like symbols for a motif; the hand has a rough textured wrap secured by fine waare plus a metal strip on tip which connects with the butt cap and hilt guard The hilt guard swings to one side and under handle. Old record card reads: Sword carried by Phillip D. Leffler a Major in Civil War.
